Finance and Administrative Services is compromised of the following departments:
Student Financial Services
Student Financial Services oversees the billing and collection of student accounts and the management of federal and institutional loan programs. Additionally, we help students and families navigate finance and payment options.
Financial Services Operations
Financial Services Operations (FSO) teams work closely with departments and customers of Brown to facilitate payments to the University.
Payroll
The Payroll Office handles the processing and payment of all payrolls at Brown. This includes the monthly, bi-weekly and weekly payrolls. The office also has responsibility for transmission of taxes, filing of federal and state payroll reports, and the production of employee W-2 forms.
Controller
The Office of the Controller is responsible for ensuring the proper stewardship of the University's financial resources.
Financial Strategy and Planning
Brown’s Office of Financial Strategy and Planning (OFSP) supports and facilitates decision making at the University in key areas including financial management and strategic planning.
Internal Consulting Group
The Internal Consulting Group (ICG) specializes in financial modeling, planning and analysis, cost analysis, project coordination and management, sponsored research budgeting, and process improvement.
Accounts Payable
The Accounts Payable Office manages the process for all supplier invoices, non-payroll payments to faculty and students (miscellaneous payments), expense reimbursements, ClinCard, Purchasing Card (PCard) and travel card transactions and policies.
Treasury and Insurance
Treasury manages the University's cash flow, liquidity, working capital, debt, and stock gifts while also serving as the primary liaison with the banking and financial services industry. The Insurance Office is responsible for the University's self-insured and commercial insurance programs.
